U.S. Citizens only due to ITAR-related work requirements Job Summary We are seeking Mid-Level FEA / Structural Analysis Engineers to support advanced vehicle and component-level structural analysis projects. This role is ideal for engineers with strong fundamentals in finite element analysis, structural mechanics, hand calculations, dynamic analysis, and simulation tool workflows . The selected engineer will work closely with design, test, and product engineering teams to analyze, validate, and optimize structural components and subsystems. This position requires the ability to move between classical engineering calculations, traditional FEA methods, non-traditional/meshless simulation tools, and data-driven analysis to support fast and accurate design decisions. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be able to work 100% onsite in Sterling Heights, MI. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 5-10 years of relevant experience in structural analysis, FEA, or mechanical analysis. Hands-on experience with theANSA/META
software suite, including model generation and model manipulation. Experience with analysis solvers such as Nastran, OptiStruct, and/or LS-DYNA .Familiarity with:
Static analysis Modal analysis Direct transient analysis Frequency response analysis Shock and vibration environments Experience with linear and non-linear stress analysis. Familiarity with bolted joint design, joint sizing, and classical bolted joint calculations. Experience using non-traditional or meshless structural analysis tools such as SimSolid, SimLab, or similar tools . Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter . CAD exposure with tools such as: Siemens NX PTC Creo VisMockup Experience with nCode / GlyphWorks for fatigue and durability assessments. Vehicle-level NVH assessment experience using FEA. Familiarity with FEA design optimization tools and workflows. Experience applying machine learning or statistical methods to simulation data. Python programming or scripting experience. Responsibilities Perform system-level and subsystem-level finite element analysis to support vehicle and component design. Conduct linear and non-linear stress analysis for static, dynamic, shock, and vibration applications. Perform bolted joint analysis using classical hand calculations and joint sizing methods. Support design trade studies using traditional FEA and non-traditional/meshless analysis methods. Evaluate and validate new structural analysis tools, methods, and workflows. Document best practices and analysis methods for broader engineering use. Provide engineering guidance to improve structural performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability. Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to develop, analyze, validate, and optimize components and subsystems. Support fast, informed design decisions through engineering analysis, simulation data, and practical structural assessment. Ideal Candidate Background The ideal candidate will have a strong structural analysis foundation with hands-on FEA experience in mechanical, aerospace, automotive, defense vehicle, heavy equipment, or similar complex engineered product environments.
