Job Description

ENGINEERING QUALITY DESIGNS

Our award-winning firm consists of talented professionals that have the privilege of assisting individuals, industrial and commercial businesses, municipalities, primary / secondary schools, higher educational institutions, and government agencies throughout Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa. We offer opportunities for our staff to gain valuable insight and expertise while working closely with other internal professional disciplines. Our team is looking for an entry-level Civil Engineer with 2-5+ professional working years of civil / site design engineering experience. Successful candidates should be driven to create high-quality designs, enjoy solving complex engineering projects, and committed to providing thorough reports and feasibility studies.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and reviewing designs, plans, specifications, permitting, and final construction documents. Identify and address potential project risks and independently produce mitigation strategies. Follow industry design trends, technological advancements, professional organizations, and new certifications. Assist with performing and / or coordinating thorough inspections and assessments, as needed, with an emphasis on safety and timeliness. Follow Klingner standards and quality control procedures to ensure project safety, reliability, and longevity. Work independently and with guidance, as well as with other project managers, engineers, technicians, and contractors to complete projects. Assist in organizing, prioritizing and performing work assignments with supervision. Clearly document all project phases and client communication. Assist with construction oversight and administration, as needed. Travel occasionally to support project-related inspections, meetings, etc.
Qualifications:
2-5+ years of demonstrated experience in site development engineering. A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or closely-related engineering field from an accredited university, at minimum. Must hold at least an EIT and be on track and pursuing a Professional Engineer license. Must have excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. An understanding of Revit is a plus. Excellent time management skills, organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks concurrently, and a commitment to meeting deadlines and keeping projects within budget is required. Clear written and verbal communication is a must. Understanding of and experience in applying regulatory agency laws, ordinances, and regulations for Municipal, County, State, and Federal agency permitting submittals, is a plus. Experience in writing or assisting in preparing reports and studies, scopes of work, and proposals. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to hold strong business relationships with clients. Ability to conduct all projects by quality standards and Klingner procedures, with a strong focus of on accuracy and quality of work. A drive to create high-quality designs, strong sense of commitment, willingness to learn, and desire to work in a fast-paced team environment. This position does not qualify for immigration sponsorship.
Salary Range:
$30/hr - $44/hr Salaries may vary based on experience and qualifications. The listed ranges are typical.
