(MEI) is a transportation consulting firm based in Springfield, Missouri. We provide planning, design, and construction management services for public and private clients, including municipalities and Class I railroads throughout the Midwest. Our projects include freight rail infrastructure, roadway improvements, industrial developments, corridor and siding expansions, logistics facilities, and construction administration. Because we are a smaller firm, our team members have the opportunity to take on a variety of responsibilities, work closely with clients, and see projects through from start to finish. We are looking for a motivated Civil Transportation Engineer who wants to grow technically, contribute to a supportive team, and build a long-term career with a company that values character, accountability, and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and enjoys solving problems while delivering quality work. Primary Responsibilities Assist with planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure projects from concept through construction Help develop project schedules, budgets, and task plans while supporting efficient project delivery Coordinate with Clients, project managers, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies Collect, assemble, and evaluate engineering data to support design and construction activities Perform occasional field investigations, site visits, and construction observation. Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, construction plans, cost estimates, and bid documents Review engineering plans and contract documents to help ensure they are accurate, complete, and constructible Support construction administration activities, including responding to contractor questions and reviewing submittals Contribute to the continued improvement of our engineering standards and internal processes Skills and Attributes Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork and servant leadership Dedicated to providing exceptional client service Willingness to travel periodically for project meetings and field work Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification Two years or more experience in transportation or civil engineering Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and a strong work ethic Preferred Qualifications Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D Experience preparing construction plans and specifications Familiarity with roadway, railroad, drainage, or site development projects Construction observation or construction administration experience Compensation and Benefits MEI offers a competitive compensation package based on qualifications and experience, including: Competitive salary Performance and career growth opportunities Paid professional organization memberships Continuing education and professional development Paid holidays Paid vacation, sick leave, and personal time 401(k) with company matching Health insurance stipend Dental insurance Vision insurance Short-term disability insurance Long-term disability insurance Life insurance Cell phone reimbursement Why Join Milestone Engineering?
