Structural Engineer Creative Modular Construction - 3.0 Springfield, MO Job Details Full-time 18 hours ago Qualifications Construction regulatory compliance Steel construction materials Bachelor's degree in engineering Building code analysis Steel structural design Technical Proficiency Full Job Description Inspired Designs Engineering and Architecture (IDEA) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to support the design, engineering, certification, and continuous improvement of steel-based modular building systems across the United States. This role will develop safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural solutions for commercial, residential, hospitality, educational, healthcare, government, and specialty modular projects. The Structural Engineer will work closely with Architecture, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, State Approval, Project Management, Quality, and other teams to ensure designs meet structural, manufacturing, transportation, installation, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Design structural steel, cold-formed steel, hybrid systems, and modular chassis. Perform structural calculations for wind, snow, seismic, live/dead, transportation, lifting, and installation loads. Develop structural connections, anchorage, tie-down, and foundation interface systems. Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, details, and specifications. Support state approvals, code compliance, and third-party engineering reviews. Optimize designs for manufacturing efficiency, material usage, transportation, and installation. Support product development, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization. Provide technical support for field installation and structural issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience . Commercial building structural design experience. Strong knowledge of structural steel and building codes. Experience with modular, prefabricated, industrialized, or off-site construction preferred. Proficiency with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, RAM, STAAD, Enercalc, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (PE) license Multi-state engineering licensure Experience with state modular approval programs BIM and digital manufacturing experience Experience with CNC-driven fabrication processes Why Join IDEA?
