We are currently seeking a Staff Civil/Environmental Engineer 1 with 0-3 years of environmental field experience. We are currently seeking creative professionals to work on complex environmental projects with collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem solver with high attention to detail and must be capable of understanding and accurately extrapolating technical instruction to solve problems and create technically accurate environmental studies and associated design documents. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position located in our Missoula, MT or Helena, MT office.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, you will: Conduct routine data collection, synthesis, and analysis using approved procedures appropriate for their discipline. Perform environmental site investigation and associated field work. Perform and observe construction remediation field work. Perform groundwater and temperature monitoring and soil and water sampling. Assist in identifying technical issues and approaches for evaluation. Review and apply applicable regulations as appropriate. Conduct site reconnaissance. Document project-related activities. Assist project engineers with environmental data analyses. Troubleshoot problems in remote locations. Perform all work in accordance with company and client Health & Safety protocols. Contribute to development of technical approaches to problem-solving. Assist with the development of technical scopes of work and cost estimating for proposal efforts on small- to medium-sized project opportunities. Observe and document field investigations and/or foundation and earthwork-related construction activities on a periodic basis. Take ownership for task completion and be resourceful with solutions and proactive with questions. Willingness to travel to support project work.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Minimum Skills and Requirements:
B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Has or applies for initial professional certification in their core discipline, where applicable, such as EIT, FE, or equivalent. OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER and MSHA certifications preferred. Relevant work experience a plus. Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter. Must comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Establishes and maintains membership in one professional society or technical organization in their discipline or primary area of technical interest. Computer Skills - Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard PC-based software and Autodesk AutoCAD.
