Job Description

Nesco Resource is in search of a Structural Engineer to join our client s team in Lincoln, RI.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our interdisciplinary design team. This team is responsible for designing location-specific structures for mounting ceiling-suspended operating room equipment such as surgical lights, anesthesia booms, and air circulation systems. These designs utilize building materials such as I-beams, channel strut, structural tubing, and custom fabricated parts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze construction documents and building plans to gather design criteria. Assist in the development of building information models (BIM) to identify clashes with existing and planned construction. Consult and collaborate with in-house and external engineers, architects, project managers, and general contractors to ensure designs meet expectations. Conduct structural analyses through calculations and finite element analysis (FEA). Model structures in 3D CAD programs using multi-component assemblies and parameterization. Create as-designed and as-built technical drawings for fabrication and construction. Support our in-house team of field service technicians before, during, and after installation. Assist with the research and development of design alternatives and modifications to optimize performance and installation.
Required Skills:
Bachelor s degree in Structural Engineering or equivalent with at least 1 year of experience. Experience using 2D and 3D modeling software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks (or equivalent); Revit desirable.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with FEA programs such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Inventor Nastran, or equivalent. Proficient in FEA for structural analysis; relevant software experience includes RISA, SAP2000, Robot Structural, or equivalent (STAAD). Experience using structural engineering standards such as ACI and AISC. Experience with FEA programs such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Inventor Nastran, or equivalent.

Schedule:
