Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team and drive the successful planning, execution, and completion of complex construction projects. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between project management, site superintendents, sub-contractors, and clients. Your expertise in commercial construction management will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to building something more than buildings with Huff Construction! Duties Collaborate with project manager and site superintendent to develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Participate in pre-construction phases to access feasibility, identify potential risks, and contribute to the development of project strategies. Work closely with project managers and sight superintendents to review and interpret project designs and specifications. Ensure that design elements align with project requirements and standards. Assist in creation and management of project budgets. Monitor project expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
Self-Perform Work:
The project engineer is expected to consistently self-perform work as a core part of their role. This includes taking ownership of tasks on the jobsite, working alongside crews, and setting standards for quality, efficiency, and accountability. Foster effective communication and collaboration among project team members, including contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and correspondence. Prepare and distribute project meeting agenda's and minutes as requested by the project manager and site superintendent. Requirements Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in construction management is preferred but not mandatory. Proven experience in construction management, project engineering or related roles. Proficiency with construction software programs such as Revit or Bluebeam for document review. Strong knowledge of construction scheduling techniques and project management principles to effectively coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation. Ability to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
