Job Description AECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer based in either our Bloomfield, NJ or New York City office. In this role, you will work on the structural design of buildings and transportation structures for a variety of clients. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for the following items, but not limited to: Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments Identifies discrepancies in results Provides guidance to entry level engineers Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position AECOM's Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture. Our teams have worked on signature projects such as the London 2012 Olympic Park and Legacy Framework, to the new plan for the LA2028 Olympics, to industrial facilities for GE and Rolls-Royce, to headquarters and workplaces for NASA, Unilever, Sony Music, DirecTV, Box, Inc., and many Fortune 500 companies.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus four (4) year of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Preferred Qualifications:
PE License or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months of employment Specific software experience in ETABS or
SAP, RAM
Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP2000, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc Revit experience is highly desirable Masters in Structural Engineering Five (5) or more years of professional Structural Engineering design experience of buildings and transportation structures is preferred Must be able to perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available. We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States. Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $120000 to $150000. About
