Job Description

Position Summary Stonecrest Engineering LLC is seeking a Structural Project Engineer with 3-6 years of experience to join our growing team in Lakewood, New Jersey. This is a full-time, in-person position for an engineer with solid building-design experience who is ready to manage design tasks, coordinate with architects and project teams, contribute to project development, and mentor junior engineers. You will work on commercial, institutional, healthcare, and residential building projects involving steel, concrete, masonry, and wood systems. Key Responsibilities Perform structural analysis, design, detailing, and documentation for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood building systems. Prepare and review calculations, sketches, drawing markups, reports, and construction-phase documentation. Support renovations, existing-structure evaluations, and new construction projects from design through construction administration. Conduct site visits, field observations, measurements, and condition assessments; document findings and coordinate follow-up. Serve as a task lead or secondary project contact, coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and internal team members. Mentor junior engineers and manage assigned tasks within project schedules and budgets. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field with a structural focus. Master's degree is a plus. 3-6 years of relevant structural engineering experience. Strong fundamentals in structural analysis, design, detailing, and engineering problem solving. Strong written/verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate with project team members. Ability to manage assigned tasks, meet deadlines, and work within project budgets. Ability to work full-time in person from our Lakewood, NJ office. Preferred Qualifications The following are helpful but not required: PE License, or on track to obtain. Experience with
IBC, ASCE
7, ACI, AISC, NDS, TMS, and/or NYC Building Code. Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and structural design software such as RAM, ETABS, SAFE, Enercalc, or ClearCalcs. Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, owners, or other design professionals. Experience mentoring junior engineers. Optional flexible schedule:
four 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and a 4-hour Friday, with a remote Friday option after 3 months, subject to supervisor approval.
