Salary Range:
$150,000
  • $180,000 depending on experience.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future A major civil infrastructure project is seeking an experienced Deputy Project Manager (DPM) to support planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale heavy civil and transportation projects. This role assists the Project Manager in delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contract and quality standards. The DPM serves as a key liaison between field operations, subcontractors, clients, and internal teams, providing hands-on support in cost control, scheduling, documentation, and change management. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Execution
  • Assist the Project Manager with overall project planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Coordinate daily activities among field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules and work plans.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in project meetings with clients, engineers, and stakeholders. Cost Control & Commercial Management
  • Track project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.
  • Assist with procurement, subcontract administration, and purchase orders.
  • Support preparation and negotiation of change orders and claims.
  • Review subcontractor invoices for alignment with progress and contract terms.
  • Help manage project cash flow and financial performance. Contract Administration
  • Interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, logs, and correspondence. Field & Operations Support
  • Collaborate with Superintendents and Field Engineers to align field execution with project plans.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, safety, and quality compliance.
  • Assist with coordination of inspections, testing, and commissioning activities. Safety & Quality
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Support implementation of project-specific safety plans and quality control programs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in civil construction with a general contractor
  • Experience on heavy civil, transportation, infrastructure, or large-scale public works projects (highways, bridges, terminals, transit, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, CPM scheduling, and cost control practices
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and technical documents
  • Experience with change order management and claims support
  • OSHA 30 and/or PMP certification preferred
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in fast-paced environments
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills
