Job Title:
Civil Engineer - Land Development (Senior Project Manager Level) Job Description This role offers an experienced civil engineer the opportunity to lead a land development group within an established, nationally recognized multidisciplinary design firm. You will oversee project delivery, financial performance, and team operations while playing a key role in business development and client relationship management. The position blends technical oversight, project and client management, mentorship, and strategic growth responsibilities, providing a clear path for long-term leadership and career advancement. Responsibilities
+ Prepare detailed proposals and contracts for civil engineering and land development projects.
+ Review project revenue projections, monthly financial reports, and monthly business reports to ensure the group meets financial and performance targets.
+ Manage selected civil engineering projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
+ Lead and oversee the operations of the land development group, including workload planning, resource allocation, and process improvement.
+ Take responsibility for the growth and profitability of the group by aligning project performance, staffing, and business development efforts.
+ Attend hearings and planning board meetings to represent projects, present technical information, and support approvals.
+ Consistently market and promote civil engineering and land development services to secure new work and expand existing client relationships.
+ Attend relevant networking functions and industry events to build and maintain a strong professional network.
+ Schedule and conduct regular meetings with clients to understand their needs, provide project updates, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
+ Train, mentor, and oversee the work of team members, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
+ Lead recruiting and hiring efforts for new team members to support group growth and maintain a high-performing team.
+ Collaborate with Senior leadership and other disciplines to support strategic initiatives and contribute to office and group success.
+ Provide technical oversight on civil engineering design tasks, including grading, stormwater management, site development, and related land development components.
+ Support and guide project teams in the preparation of design documents using tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D.
+ Contribute to a balanced role that integrates project management, client management, mentorship, and strategic business development. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rahway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $180000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
