A Geotechnical Engineer specializes in understanding and assessing the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of earth materials. They study the properties of these materials to assess their suitability for construction projects and to design foundations, slopes, retaining walls, and other structures to ensure stability and safety. Investigates geological conditions, conducts tests on rock and soil, and provides recommendations to mitigate risks, ensuring the integrity and longevity of infrastructure projects.

$90,000 - $160,000 per year Job Details -
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage drilling projects and oversee technicians with management of these projects, as well as visual classification and log preparation Coordinate and review laboratory testing Complete accurate geotechnical exploration reports Perform engineering calculations, including settlement, bearing capacity, lateral earth pressures, pavement section designs, slope stability, etc. Generate scopes and fees for new projects and prepare complete proposals and budgets. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study from an ABET accredited university P.E. or other professional licensure is preferred 5 to 15 years of relevant experience Valid driver's license and good driving record Enjoy working outdoors NICET, ACI and/or other certifications desired Strong analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving in complex engineering scenarios.
