Job Description

One of Central New York's leading real estate property management firms is seeking a full-time Building Engineer to provide maintenance, preventive maintenance and inspections for a commercial office buildings located in the Ithaca, NY area. The suitable individual should have the skills, experience, and qualifications to: Receive and respond to tenant service requests, inquiries, complaints, and/or suggestions in a courteous and professional manner. Candidate should demonstrate a proven record of excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Coordinate and manage Vendor/Contractor Service and Preventative Maintenance Agreements to ensure buildings and tenant suites are properly maintained at all times. Self-perform the daily operations and maintenance of minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general maintenance requirements of the building. Conduct physical building inspections to troubleshoot and repair building systems whether by self performing the repairs or following-up with contracted service vendors as needed. Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade equipment/maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities. Respond to emergencies and other after-hours job-related activity as required. Maintain and operate life safety and fire systems. Assist in construction projects as requested.
The successful canidate should:
Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility maintenance. Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience in operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record with periodic checks. Background checks will be required.
