Salary:
$96,000
  • $141,000 (depending on experience).

  • We are seeking a Project Engineer to support a large-scale construction project in Manhattan, NY.
This role will work closely with the Project Manager and field teams to assist with project coordination, documentation, quality control, scheduling support, and technical problem-solving throughout the construction lifecycle. The Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring construction activities align with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Field Support
  • Conduct daily site inspections and coordinate with contractors regarding deliveries and construction activities
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications for field crews installing materials
  • Research and resolve drawing interpretation conflicts, design issues, and field interferences
  • Assist with construction logistics, sequencing, and scheduling coordination
  • Participate in jobsite walks and document findings and progress Documentation & Reporting
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including status reports, punch lists, sketches, and field reports
  • Create and process Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Prepare field design change requests and maintain as-built drawings
  • Record detailed meeting minutes and distribute to project stakeholders
  • Generate reports and documentation using construction management software Quality Control & Compliance
  • Verify that completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and project specifications
  • Support implementation of project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) programs
  • Document quality issues and propose solutions for corrective action
  • Review mock-ups, shop drawings, and submittals against project specifications
  • Take weekly site photos and track quality control documentation Scheduling & Project Controls
  • Assist with construction scheduling coordination and sequencing
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with material requirement calculations
  • Understand and support the project change management process
  • Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews Safety
  • Understand and follow project safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in safety inspections and promote safe work practices on site Apply now! Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • 5+ years of construction experience, preferably on projects valued at $150M+ in the NYC metro area
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience working with construction management software such as Prolog, Procore, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and estimating software
  • Knowledge of CAD 2D or 3D software preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to work both independently and within a project team environment
