Job Description

Civil Project Manager | Land Development Engineering An established civil engineering firm is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager with proven experience in land development, infrastructure design, and construction document preparation. This role supports a wide range of projects including roadway design, parking facilities, storm drainage systems, stormwater management facilities, water mains, sanitary sewers, and erosion and sediment control systems. This position plays a key role in advancing land development design concepts and guiding project teams through final construction documentation. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and local review agencies. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of assigned projects, ensuring all work aligns with contractual commitments, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Depending on project needs, this role may function as both Project Engineer and Project Manager. Key Responsibilities Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, aerial photography, and geotechnical and hydrologic data to support planning and design decisions Develop and contribute to schematic design concepts and advance designs through construction documentation Coordinate and integrate design efforts with other engineering and design disciplines Direct and manage project staff to achieve budget, schedule, and quality objectives Produce design sketches and drawings for incorporation into final plan sets Guide technical staff in converting concepts and calculations into construction ready drawings Perform and review engineering calculations related to storm sewers, detention systems, site stormwater best management practices, and sanitary sewer systems Utilize engineering software and spreadsheets for analysis, design, and presentation purposes Select appropriate details, general notes, and outline specifications for project documents Serve as liaison with municipal, state, and regulatory review agencies Maintain ongoing communication with clients throughout project execution and after completion Provide daily technical guidance and problem solving support to project teams Identify project challenges early and develop practical, cost effective solutions including value engineering Ensure overall accuracy, quality, and constructability of plans Mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff Attend construction meetings and prepare site observation reports Support business development efforts and client relationship building as appropriate Participate in professional organizations that align with firm goals Assist with preparation and administration of client contracts and maintain understanding of contractual requirements Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering Professional Engineer registration in the State of Ohio Minimum of seven years of experience in land development engineering Strong understanding of local, state, and federal codes and regulations Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and project teams concurrently Proficiency using computer systems and engineering software to design and manage projects Strong communication, leadership, planning, teamwork, decision making, and problem solving skills Motivated to continue learning, grow professionally, and contribute in a fast paced, collaborative design environment
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
