Job Description
A well-established structural engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced engineer to join its growing team. The firm has built a strong reputation delivering practical, cost-effective, and innovative structural solutions across a diverse range of building types. They work closely with architects, contractors, and developers on projects spanning commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-family sectors. The team operates in a highly collaborative, hands-on environment , with an emphasis on long-term client relationships and consistent project delivery. The Role This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to take ownership of projects and play a key role in design, coordination, and mentoring. You'll be working in a lean team environment , giving you visibility across the full project lifecycle-from concept design through construction. Key Responsibilities Lead structural design across: Commercial + office developments Industrial facilities + manufacturing/warehouse projects Institutional buildings (education, healthcare, civic) Multi-family residential Perform analysis and design using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry Coordinate directly with architects, contractors, and clients Contribute to seismic retrofit and upgrade projects Review calculations, drawings, and construction documents Support and mentor junior engineers Help ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering PE license required (SE preferred or in progress) 6-12+ years of experience in structural building design Strong experience across multiple project types Familiarity with common structural software (RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, RISA, etc.) Seismic design experience is a plus Comfortable in a client-facing, collaborative environment What They're Looking For Engineers who prioritize practical, buildable design solutions Someone who thrives in a smaller, high-responsibility team Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally A hands-on mindset with interest in full project involvement Why This Opportunity High level of ownership and autonomy on projects Diverse project mix across both private and public sectors Close collaboration with leadership and decision-makers Stable pipeline of repeat business and long-term clients Tight-knit, low-ego team environment Job Alerts Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Building Structural Engineer Project Manager
