Staff Geotechnical Engineer A growing geotechnical firm is looking for a Staff Level Engineer who wants to begin their career or continue their early career in Geotechnical Engineering by tackling projects and utilizing their engineering skills in a learning work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In this position, you will develop hands-on experience in geotechnical design, analysis, through field work and collaboration on a variety of earthwork projects. Depending on your level of experience, you will perform geotechnical-related testing an assessments and observe active construction projects, develop skills to prepare proposals, initiate site visits, and assist in preparation of draft reports for clients of all types. As you develop local knowledge, you will assist more experienced colleagues in broader engineering activities, perform routine engineering functions, compose proposals, initiate site walkthrough/visit, observe construction projects, perform high level geotechnical-related testing, and write reports. This opportunity is open to new graduates as well as engineers with experience. You can expect to spend a significant portion of your time in the field for projects of all sizes, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of soil conditions and construction related issues as they relate to geotechnical engineering.Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school. Masters of Science degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred but not required Two to four years of related experience preferred but not required Thorough knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles. Self-driven, a fast learner, and motivated with a strong desire to learn engineering skills related to geotechnical engineering. Project Management experience/exposure. Strong organizational skills. Professional-level verbal and written communication skills. Ability to successfully work within a team. Proficient in Word, Outlook, and Excel Understanding of or experience with slope stability software program preferred. The ability to perform varying degrees of field work. Valid driver's license.
