(AIE) is looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join our Bridge Design and Inspection team in the greater Philadelphia, PA region. This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized civil engineering professional looking to grow their career in bridge design, inspection, and load rating. The ideal candidate should possess a "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative consulting firm. Requirements/Qualifications:
0 to 5 years of relevant experience Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree Basic knowledge of designing and inspecting bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other transportation-related infrastructure. Experience utilizing MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred Experience with AASHTOWare BrR, BAR7, and other load rating software is a plus Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Fundamentals of Engineering preferred (or ability to obtain) NHI Bridge Inspection and PennDOT Certified Bridge Safety Inspector certifications are a plus Responsibilities Perform structural analyses, develop calculations, and prepare design plans in accordance with federal, state, and local agency requirements. Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and special provisions. Perform bridge load ratings Conduct site investigations Perform bridge, sign structure, and tunnel inspections Prepare inspection reports
Skills & Abilities:
A self-starter with the ability to work independently and with project teams and manage multiple and concurrent tasks/assignments Strong organizational skills with ability to manage the inspection duties in the field Data driven and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner Ability and willingness to travel to work sites AIE is a multi-disciplinary, ENR-500 company with 13 offices in the U.S and over 350 employees.
