Civil EngineerJob Description This Civil Engineer role focuses on land development projects and offers the opportunity to work across a variety of commercial and residential site design assignments. You will contribute to site layout, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting activities while collaborating closely with senior leadership in a small, laid-back firm environment. Responsibilities Develop site layout plans for a variety of land development projects. Support commercial planning efforts, including site configuration and infrastructure design. Contribute to residential planning, ensuring functional and compliant community layouts. Perform grading and utilities design for sites, including earthwork, water, and other utility services. Prepare erosion and sedimentation control designs that comply with applicable regulations. Assist with DEP permitting processes, including preparation and coordination of NPDES permit applications. Design stormwater management systems, including collection, conveyance, and detention/retention facilities. Develop sanitary sewer designs that meet regulatory and project requirements. Participate in roadway design, including alignment, profiles, and related civil elements. Support a variety of land development tasks from conceptual design through permitting and detailed civil design documentation. Essential Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. 0-2 years of experience in land development projects. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification. Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D for civil design and drafting. Experience with site grading and utilities design. Experience with stormwater management design. Experience with NPDES permitting processes. Knowledge of erosion and sediment control design. Understanding of stormwater management principles and regulations. Ability to perform civil design tasks for site development and land development projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with civil design for commercial and residential site development. Knowledge of sediment control methods and best practices. Ability to support DEP permitting activities and documentation. Strong attention to detail in design and permitting work. Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project stakeholders. Interest in working across multiple project types and stages within a small firm. Work Environment This position is based onsite in the office, working within a small team of approximately 15 people. The environment is laid-back and collaborative, providing frequent opportunities to engage directly with senior leadership, including the president and vice president. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously, using tools such as Civil 3D in a professional office setting focused on land development and civil engineering design. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chester, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
