Job Description

Burne Engineering is looking for a structural engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will perform the structural design of a wide array of projects- including residential, commercial and public infrastructure. Structural design includes the following materials: timber, reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, CMU, URM, structural steel, and cold formed steel. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, competency and commitment to delivering projects per company standards.
Responsibilities:
Structural Design and Analysis:
Perform structural analysis including gravity loads, high snow loads, seismic, and wind loads.
Code Compliance:
Ensure designs meet all local, state, and federal building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with team members, architects, clients, and contractors to align design specifications with project goals.
Site Evaluation:
Conduct field investigations to evaluate structural integrity of existing structures and support of new construction. • Provide construction support on any projects previously engineered
Requirements:
Graduate of a Civil/Structural Engineering program and hold an F.E. certificate, and 2+ years structural engineering experience; MS preferred, PE preferred. Strong computer skills including MS Office, Blue Beam , AutoCAD (preferred)and various related Engineering software; Be knowledgeable of the California building Code and other Code referenced Standards; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills; Ability to work independently, and in a team setting;
