Job Title:
Civil Engineer Job Description The Project Engineer I role involves performing engineering tasks and CAD operations on diverse municipal site development and renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include designing site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, stormwater management, and road improvements. The position involves collaboration with private and public clients, managing construction administration, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Responsibilities Correspond with private and public agencies. Assist with the preparation of reports using Microsoft Office or similar software. Prepare permit applications for federal, state, and local agencies. Contribute to capital improvement plans. Assist in preparing quantities for construction estimates. Prepare bid documents for various governmental projects. Communicate with contractors and subcontractors for project coordination. Prepare project specifications and standard details. Perform field inspections of existing infrastructure. Coordinate application approval processes and follow up on information requests. Lead small to mid-sized projects ensuring deadlines and quality expectations are met. Produce and modify drawings using CAD software. Organize and assemble project-related documents and permit applications. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 2-5 years of applicable experience. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Competency in Microsoft Office or similar software. Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time. Valid driver's license. Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams. Resourceful, action-oriented, and analytical thinking. Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects. Additional Skills & Qualifications EIT or PE certification. Experience with Civil 3D and/or MicroStation Design. Background in municipal or renewable energy projects. Work Environment This role primarily involves office work with some field site visits. The work schedule is Monday to Friday with flexible hours, totaling 40-50 hours per week. Initially, the position requires majority in-office presence for the first 90 days, with the possibility of working remotely for two days a week thereafter. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
