Job Description
Job Overview Our client is a full-service environmental consulting firm serving commercial and governmental entities throughout the DMV. They are currently seeking an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to work within theEngineering technical service area. The EIT will work in a collaborative manner with team members in the Engineering, Survey, and Natural Resource Permitting Service Areas to contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of a variety of environmental and water resources projects. Relevant experience may include stream design and analysis, pond or infiltration facility design and analysis, and erosion and sediment control design. This position offers meaningful opportunities for professional development and progression toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field. Has Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) exam, or has demonstrated comparable expertise. Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant professional experience. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Primary Responsibilities Perform engineering computations (e.g., cut/fill quantities, stage-storage, and stage-discharge) and analyses (e.g., time of concentration, hydrologic and hydraulic, open channel flow) for use in engineering designs. Design and draft various components of engineering design plans (e.g., stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, profile and cross-sectional layouts). Prepare and modify engineering drawings and plan sets using AutoCAD and MicroStation systems in support of project design and development. Develop technical documentation to support project deliverables, including engineering design reports, construction sequencing plans, and regularly submission packages.
