This position will be headquartered at 141 NW Barstow Street in Waukesha, WI. This position offers a hybridized work schedule. The position will be headquartered at and required to work from the Waukesha State Office Building at least 2 days per week. Are you up for it? At WisDOT, you can Build the Future - NOW. Position Summary This position functions as a Civil Engineer within the Project Development Section of the Southeast Region. This position uses independent discretion and judgment on transportation improvement projects in both the construction and design phases. T his position manages activities on multiple projects including those of a highly complex nature for continuity in both design and construction phases. This position serves as a resource and advisor to the supervisors and project leaders. For less than 50% of the time this position may also perform as a construction leader directing major complex projects and assist the team by advising and coaching team members on projects. The essential function of this position is to act as a project manager in the design and construction of transportation improvement projects. The project manager has primary responsibility for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and overall project quality. This position requires the ability to independently travel throughout the Southeast Region as well as occasional statewide travel. The position also requires fieldwork which may include walking over rough terrain. The fieldwork also includes the ability to work outdoors in conditions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust. Salary Information This position is in schedule-range (14-13) with an annual salary of $92,768-$112,237, plus excellent benefits . A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan. A $3,000 sign-on bonus applies to those who do not have any prior permanent full-time state service in the last five years and agree to remain in the position for one year. The $3,000 will be paid on the first paycheck. Job Details This state agency does not sponsor work visas.
