Job Description

Civil Project Engineer  Job Description We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team. This role involves engagement in all project phases, from design to municipal approval, and requires collaboration with project managers and the design team. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, support, and will be responsible for creating site plans and plan sets using Civil 3D and AutoCAD. The primary focus will be on private land development projects, with potential involvement in municipal projects. Responsibilities Perform various civil, environmental, transportation engineering, site planning, surveying, and landscape architecture tasks under close supervision. Utilize computer and engineering software, with a strong familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Design project portions under supervision. Assist in field surveying and construction observation. Research literature catalogs and draft reports required for project permits. Attend meetings with the project engineer. Complete other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Civil Engineering/Design. At least 3 years of experience with Civil 3D Design. Experience with land development projects. Proficiency in grading, utilities design, and roadway designs. EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications PE license or ability to obtain it within a year. Experience in transportation or municipal design. Work Environment The position is based in a small, team-oriented, and collaborative office. Core working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, with flexibility. The role may require local travel to job sites. Initially, the candidate should work daily from the office for the first 3-4 weeks for training. A hybrid work schedule is possible if the candidate lives over an hour away, with the requirement to visit the office 1-2 times a month. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and advancement in a youthful team and provides potential for transition into project management. Compensation includes hourly pay, overtime opportunities, and annual discretionary bonuses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.
