The Distribution Construction Engineer provides engineering support for gas and electric growth, expansion projects, extensions, rebuilds, relocations, and assists with operating electric and natural gas utilities.

About this job:

Provide engineering support for gas and electric growth, expansion projects, extensions, rebuilds, relocations, and assists with operating electric and natural gas utilities Design electric and/or natural gas facilities following the Capital Business Processes Supervise projects and oversee contract and company construction crews Perform computer related functions such as engineering analysis, drawing, spreadsheets, and database compilations Compile and write technical reports Respond to customers' needs by performing field investigations Survey and inspect routes Ensure that cost estimates meet company standards and current tariffs Assist to develop project-specific capital budgets Assist and closely work the Division operations Complete periodic on-call after-hours duties; this requires the individual to reside in the greater metro area; includes response to emergency situations and calling personnel out for after-hours activities The ability to maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position, consistent with applicable laws and reasonable accommodation requirements All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives Up to 15% travel Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile: Must have a B.S. degree in Engineering Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer's License is preferred Working knowledge and experience in construction and design preferred Experience with SAP, line design and DDS preferred Knowledge of International Fuel Gas Code, NESC, NEC, and the DOT. Part 191 and 192 is preferred General understanding of survey and inspection techniques and microprocessor-based equipment preferred Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus (click the link to certify at no cost) Requisition #5058
