Job Description

MSAG is seeking a Senior Airport Engineer to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contract. The candidate will serve as a technical support resource to current staff, assisting with airport design review and the development, review, and update of Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, technical documents, and related training videos. This is a remote position supporting a distributed team, with opportunities for occasional travel. The customer is located in Washington, D.C., with additional support provided to other U.S. locations. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical knowledge of airport engineering, airport design standards, guidance documents, and technical document development. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, technical teams, and cross-functional stakeholders in a virtual work environment. The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and provide high-quality technical support is essential. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Evaluate issues; review and ascertain applicable regulatory requirements, processes, and procedures; and provide recommendations for addressing engineering issues while conforming to the applicable FAA requirements. Provide support on airport survey processes, applicable airport survey and airport construction/design criteria that conform to FAA requirements and coordination processes, general airport and airport project funding in accordance with applicable statutory provisions. Become familiar with and provide technical support for FAA software systems such as the Taxiway Design Tool for High Speed Exits (MS Excel), Taxiway Design Tool for Multiple Turns (MS Excel), and the FAA wind analysis program as they pertain to airport design. Review Advisory Circulars and adjudicating comments and identify differences with respect to all pertinent ICAO documents. Conduct technical compliance reviews of existing and proposed airport construction plans as tasked by the COR. Maintain and update owned or managed guidance and requirements for airport infrastructure design, construction, and pavement management, alongside overseeing safety systems, winter operations, GIS data, emerging aerospace technologies, and ensuring strict compliance with FAA and ICAO regulatory standards. Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
BS in engineering, math, or science and a minimum of 15 years of experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, and Excel skills. Detail-oriented with ability to execute multiple tasks accurately and efficiently. Desire and drive to learn, grow, and advance within the industry. Clearance required -

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
