Position Summary:
Our client is looking for an eager, technically capable Project Engineer to join our engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with foundational experience in data center mechanical systems flushing. In this position, you will support flushing and passivation projects across data center construction and commissioning sites nationwide. Working closely with Senior Project Engineers, Project Managers, and field teams, you will successfully engineer and support large scale flushing operations. Key Responsibilities:
Project Support & Engineering
  • Development of flushing and passivation scope packages, including method statements, chemical treatment plans, flow calculations, and equipment sizing under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and project specifications to understand system boundaries, flushing circuits, and sequencing requirements.
  • Support pre-construction coordination with general contractors, mechanical subcontractors, and facility owners to align scope, schedule, and technical needs.
  • Maintain detailed project tracking documents, schedules, and logistics plans to keep projects on time and within scope. Field Coordination & Technical Support
  • Serve as an on-site or remote technical support resource for field crews executing flushing, chemical cleaning, passivation, and system fill operations.
  • Contribute to post-project reviews and help identify process improvements.
Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years experience with commissioning, startup, and/or testing of data center flushing operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
  • Basic understanding of piping systems, fluid mechanics, and mechanical system operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documents.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to prepare clear field reports and professional correspondence.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with water chemistry, chemical treatment programs, or industrial cleaning processes.
  • Knowledge of ASHRAE standards or industry commissioning frameworks.
  • OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore or Bluebeam.
