Lloyd Engineering, LLC is a small structural engineering firm based in Watkinsville, Georgia, specializing in restoration and rehabilitation design engineering. Much like forensic engineers, we diagnose structural issues in existing buildings and infrastructure and develop repair designs. We also provide new design structural engineering services, non-destructive testing, exploratory testing, and load testing of structures in place. Our projects span the southeastern United States, and we take pride in delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions for our clients. Position Summary We are looking for an entry-level to early-career Staff Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or an engineer with up to three years of experience who is eager to develop their skills in structural assessment, repair design, and field investigation. You will work directly with the Principal Engineer on a variety of projects, gaining broad experience in both office design and field work. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design and analysis of structural systems for restoration, rehabilitation, and new construction projects Perform structural calculations and simulations for integrity and safety assessments Prepare technical reports, construction drawings, and specifications under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer Conduct site visits for data collection, structural condition assessments, inspections, and testing during construction Assist with non-destructive testing, exploratory testing, and load testing of existing structures Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to address design challenges Utilize engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Enercalc, SkyCiv, Tekla Tedds, and Microsoft Excel Stay current with industry standards, codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS, TMS), and best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, or Structural Engineering (required) or equivalent EIT certification preferred; PE/SE license pursuit encouraged 0 - 3 years of relevant structural engineering experience Working knowledge of structural analysis and design principles Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., ladders, testing equipment) Willingness to travel to project sites within the southeastern United States as needed Physical Requirements This role involves both office and field work. Field work may include climbing ladders, accessing rooftops, crawl spaces, or confined areas, and working in various outdoor conditions. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of equipment including ladders, testing instruments, and tools. Compensation & Benefits Annual salary: $55,000 - $68,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications Paid Time Off (PTO): Accrued after 90-day introductory period Paid holidays observed by the company Travel reimbursement: Mileage to/from job sites, airfare (if applicable), and coverage for meals and lodging Continuing education support and professional development opportunities Health insurance and retirement benefits eligibility after 90-day introductory period (benefit program currently in development; anticipated availability within 3 years) Equipment provided: Computer with access to all necessary software and project files; field equipment supplied as needed Work Location & Schedule This is an in-office position based in Watkinsville, GA. Remote work may be considered after one year of employment and at the discretion of the Principal Engineer.
