Program Overview:
- The Sallie Mae Internship program seeks to attract and develop exceptional early talent while adding value to our organization.
What You'll Contribute:
- The Sallie Mae Legal Department represents the legal interests of SLM Corporation, Sallie Mae Bank and all their affiliates, subsidiaries, and business units.
What You'll Do:
Daily Tasks:
+ Assist in preparing opinion letters or other advanced clerical duties; + Prepare and deliver written and oral presentations to supervising attorneys; and + Participate as a member of one or more legal teams supporting ongoing business priorities.Project-Related Tasks:
+ Provide legal research supporting various projects, including licensing, validation, or survey projects; + Draft memoranda, briefs, motions, and other legal documents; + Review and update state and federal databases; + Assist with tracking proposed and enacted consumer and banking legislation; + Attend internal meetings and assist with ad hoc projects stemming from meetings; and + Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned. _The above information is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job; it is not designed to contain or be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees in this role._What You Have:
- Minimum education, skills and experience required.
Education:
- + Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school
Experience:
- + Available to work up to 40 hours per week between 6/08/26 and 8/28/2026 - Summer

- + Strong oral/written communication skills + Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with individuals at all levels.
