Job Description

Structural Engineer Missoula, MT Professional engineering firm in Missoula, MT is looking to add a Mid or Senior Level Structural Engineer to their growing team. This firm is a dynamic team of structural, mechanical, electrical and technology engineers that provides full spectrum building engineering solutions to clients throughout the Western United States. The firm consults, designs, and innovates engineering solutions for clients of every size and SE will lead projects and provide design expertise. SE can work remote or hybrid with a preference living in or near Salt Lake City, UT; Missoula, MT; or St. George, UT.

Essential Functions and Duties:
Develop structural framing layouts from schematic design through construction documents Perform gravity and lateral calculations; apply seismic design requirements per ASCE 7, IBC, NDS, ACI, AISC, TMS, and others Select materials and systems; specify framing sizes, connections, load paths, and foundation systems; develop wall sections and custom details Evaluate existing structures for renovation, repurposing, or forensic assessment as needed Produce Revit models, drawings, specifications, and schedules Coordinate with the design team to resolve conflicts; provide CA support including submittals, RFIs, site visits, and project meetings Manage project scope, budget, and schedule; assist with proposals and project closeout Maintain current knowledge of structural codes; participate in QA/QC reviews Interface with clients, code officials, and contractors as needed Participate in internal initiatives including process improvement, quality assurance, and professional development
Qualifications:
BS in Civil or Architectural Engineering or equivalent Active PE license required; active NCEES Record preferred 5 to 8 years of building structural engineering experience, including at least 1 to 3 years post-licensure Autodesk Revit required; structural analysis software (RISA, RAM, or equivalent) required; Bluebeam preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word in particular) Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate directly with architects and contractors Strong analytical skills; comfortable working independently and as part of a team Professional, clear communication style Our client companies pay our fees, so there is no charge to the talent we represent.
