Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer
  • Office Manager to lead our civil engineering projects while efficiently managing office operations fro a top employer RP construction.
Must relocate voluntarily to Sioux Falls, SD. This pivotal role combines technical expertise in civil engineering with strong administrative and leadership skills to ensure seamless project execution and a productive work environment. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced setting, driving project success through meticulous planning, coordination, and communication. Duties Oversee and coordinate multiple civil engineering projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards using project management tools and techniques. Develop detailed project schedules utilizing software such as Primavera or MS Project, tracking progress and adjusting plans proactively. Manage office operations including administrative tasks, resource allocation, staff scheduling, and maintaining a productive work environment. Prepare comprehensive construction estimates by utilizing construction estimating software and analyzing project requirements. Review and produce technical drawings, schematics, and system designs using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other CAD platforms. Conduct construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and progress reporting. Utilize GIS tools like ArcGIS and GIS-based software such as HEC or SWMM for spatial analysis related to water systems, hydraulics, or geotechnical engineering projects. Write detailed technical reports, proposals, and documentation ensuring clarity and accuracy for clients and stakeholders. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical engineers, water treatment specialists, land surveyors, mechanical engineers, and system designers to deliver integrated solutions. Support office administration by managing schedules for project engineers and supporting staff while maintaining effective communication channels across teams. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; master's degree preferred. Proven experience in construction management, project scheduling, and civil engineering design. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, System design software (e.g., HECRAS), ArcGIS or similar GIS tools. Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques and project management methodologies. Familiarity with water treatment processes, wastewater management systems (SWMM), hydraulics calculations (HEC), geotechnical engineering principles, land surveying techniques, and system design integration. Excellent technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with experience managing office operations as an Office Manager or similar role.
