Job Title:
Project Engineer / Commissioning Coordinator (Civil & Infrastructure) We are seeking a highly driven Project Engineer to support large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, with a focus on civil site development and underground utilities. This individual will play a key role in coordinating engineering, construction, and commissioning efforts while ensuring alignment with company standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This is a fast-paced, cross-functional role ideal for someone who thrives in a highly technical environment and enjoys working across multiple project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Partner with Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, and Commissioning teams to ensure designs and scopes align with internal standards, specifications, and applicable codes Coordinate and support commissioning activities, working closely with Construction Managers and Commissioning teams to ensure successful system turnover Act as a liaison between Engineering Program Managers, Engineers, Superintendents, and field teams to ensure clear communication and project alignment Own project communication workflows, including reporting, updates, and stakeholder coordination Develop project scope, support execution planning, and assist Construction Managers with defining project parameters Perform drawing take-offs, develop ROM estimates, and coordinate material procurement with internal procurement teams Manage and track RFIs, submittal logs, and approval workflows, ensuring timely resolution and prioritization Identify and escalate field issues or installation discrepancies to engineering and construction leadership Review and validate project schedules, ensuring alignment with field progress and upcoming work plans Coordinate internal and external engineering deliverables to reduce risk, optimize system performance, and improve operational readiness Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience) 5-7+ years of experience in a construction environment, with exposure to both engineering and project execution Strong experience supporting civil infrastructure projects, including site development and underground utilities Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals with demonstrated ability to solve technical challenges in the field Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and third-party partners Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Primavera (P6) and/or Autodesk tools preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Detail-oriented with strong organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills Ability to proactively identify issues and implement effective solutionsSimilar jobs in Austin, TX
