Civil Project Engineer/Project Manager - Public Works IDS Engineering Group - 3.6 Houston, TX Job Details Full-time 14 hours ago Qualifications Construction regulatory compliance Regulatory compliance Fundamentals of Engineering Engineer in Training Bachelor's degree Productivity software Full Job Description Description This position involves the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, including Roadway, Drainage, Water, Wastewater, and Site Development improvements. IDS Engineering Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer or Project Manager with 2-6 years of experience in Public Works projects within Harris County and surrounding areas. Candidates with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, or those with an Engineer in Training (E.I.T) certification and actively pursuing licensure are encouraged to apply. Essential Functions Prepare construction plans, specifications, and engineering designs for Public Works infrastructure projects Perform engineering calculations, technical analyses, and cost estimates Coordinate with Municipalities, Utility Agencies, clients, and regulatory authorities Assist with project management activities, including schedules, budgets, and deliverables Conduct site visits and review construction progress for compliance with project requirements Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Technical staff to develop practical and efficient solutions Support permitting, agency coordination, and approval processes Prepare technical reports, exhibits, and supporting project documentation Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field 2-4 years of experience for Project Engineer (E.I.T. candidates) or 4-6 years of experience for Project Manager (P.E. candidates), with a primary focus on Public Works projects E.I.T. certification required; P.E. license required for Project Manager candidates Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite Strong understanding of local agency design criteria, standards, and permitting requirements Experience working with Municipal clients and public agencies preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a team-oriented environment Recommended Software AutoCAD (Land Development, Public Works, Facilities) Civil 3D (Land Development, Public Works, Facilities) Autodesk Inventor (Land Development, Public Works, Facilities)
