LJB, Inc. is looking for a Director, Trenchless Technology in Katy, TX to perform the following job duties: Perform Business Development - including locating trenchless and rehabilitation project leads, discussion of teaming and leveraging existing and new client relationships to secure an ongoing stream of new business to sustain and grow the business across the company, but specifically in Texas and in the trenchless segment of the energy market. Managing projects and tasks on megaprojects and managing projects, including writing proposals, development of scope of work, fee, and schedule for our work. Reporting project progress internally and to our clients and troubleshooting issues arising to maintain project profitability. Maintaining quality by appropriate implementation of the LJB quality management process. Implementation of LJB health and safety practices to make sure employees are suitably trained and qualified to work on projects. Leading technical tasks in production of project deliverables for clients. Independently produce technical deliverables according to client specifications. Independently prepare construction plans and specifications, structural/geotechnical calculations and design reports, and technical memoranda. Communicate technical and non-technical information in a concise, professional manner, including participation in technical meetings and workshops with owners, contractors, and other stakeholders. Tunnel engineering calculations - produce geotechnical and structural engineering calculations (including numerical analysis) as required in support of tunnel and trenchless design including support of excavation (shafts & tunnels - including connection details and complex structures), and adherence to all local and national codes of practice for concrete, steel, and timber design. Independently prepare technical reports including preparation of technical memoranda, letters, and reports, as well as geotechnical data reports (GDRs), and geotechnical baseline reports (GBRs). Complete geotechnical engineering associated with tunnel and trenchless design -including development of design parameters from geotechnical reports and project documents. Complete structural analysis and design associated with tunnels, shafts, and stations, including lining, connections, support of excavation, and retaining structures in steel, concrete, and timber. Increase LJBs visibility in the industry by participating in regional initiatives, conferences, committees, and community associations, including any identified professional association activities. The position requires a Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural, Geological/Geotechnical Engineering and 10 years of relevant project experience in the planning, design, and construction of a variety of tunnel and trenchless projects and 2 years' experience in underground construction business development.
