Project Engineer

Project Engineer To plan, manage, and coordinate the implementation of technical studies, design, and construction of City facilities and transportation, drainage, water and wastewater infrastructure projects in compliance with the City's master plan and standards. This position requires a civil engineer. The employee will have the responsibility of: Preparing, negotiating, processing, and administering contracts with engineering, architectural, surveying, and other professional service companies, including drafting agreement documents, evaluating consultant fee proposals, and verifying compensation for professional services Reviewing the construction plans and related documents including bid package and ensures compliance Communicating with the consultant and contractor to address technical and field issues and any conflicts in design and construction phase Attending final inspection, review punch list items, and takes required measures for acceptance of City projects Reviewing construction materials or field test results and inspection reports and takes necessary steps Maintaining the spreadsheets or other forms of documents for the accounting of Water and Sewer Bond funds, General Obligation Bond Funds for streets and drainage and other funding for Capital Improvement Projects (facilities, water, sewer, streets, and drainage). Education and Experience:

Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering, construction engineering or a closely related field; and Minimum of three (3) years professional civil engineering experience; or Any equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have a valid Texas driver s license within ninety (90) days of hire Must have a valid driver s license by date-of-hire
