Develops and reviews engineering standards, provides customer service to property owners, and oversees development of water and sewer improvements. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Develops and reviews engineering design and standards and oversees construction activity within the department. Provides customer service and coordination between consultants, engineers, staff, and other departments. Oversees development of water and sewer improvements for new subdivisions; responds to complaints and inquiries. Provides updates on number of connections to the water system; compares data with TCEQ requirements. Assists with capital improvement projects and TxDOT; provides technical advice as needed. Coordinates with other utility departments to identify any conflicts with existing or proposed infrastructure. Submits Council Communication agendas. Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use. Performs related work as required.COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES
Knowledge of:
Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including computers and applicable software. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Local travel Minimum Qualifications Required Education and Experience Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited- college or university in Civil Engineering, or related field. At least one (1) year of experience in the practice of civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or related engineering field.
