Our core values are the foundation that make us successful for ourselves, our customers and the planet. Albemarle is hiring for a Site Project Engineer in Pasadena, Texas. This position will be on-site. What you will do
- Lead capital projects from concept development through commissioning, serving as the single point of accountability for project delivery
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with engineering, operations, and site leadership
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including cost estimates, schedules, risk mitigation strategies, and resource planning
- Manage project performance to meet or exceed safety, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and leadership
- Oversee engineering design, contractor performance, and EPC activities to ensure high-quality execution
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal project controls while promoting continuous improvement and constructability best practices What you bring
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience leading capital projects in manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence diverse stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of project controls, including cost forecasting, scheduling, and risk management
- Working knowledge of process safety management (PSM), management of change (MOC), and relevant regulatory requirements It'd be great if you also have:
- Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments
- Background in front-end loading (FEL) and stage-gate project development processes
- Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors
- Familiarity with SAP Project Systems (PS) or similar project management tools
- Ability to develop, evaluate, and communicate project business cases
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in complex project environments
