Job Description
Overview We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our engineering team and drive the execution of complex infrastructure projects. In this role, you will oversee project planning, coordination, and management across various phases, ensuring that all technical and regulatory requirements are met with precision. Your expertise will help deliver innovative solutions in civil, water, stormwater, and pipeline systems, contributing to sustainable development and community resilience. Duties Review project designs in detail for functional completeness and accuracy Configuration, testing, and fine-tuning of complex audiovisual system components such as Audio DSPs, videoconferencing codecs, control system processors Make any required changes prior to CAD drafting and order processing Work closely with the Prefabrication team to ensure projects are built, staged, tested and signed off on prior to field installation Participate in project kickoff meetings administered by the project manager, to transition project details to the Project Manager and other project team members Provide engineering level support to the prefabrication & operations departments throughout the course of a project implementation and is a key player in the commissioning process Attend other project meetings with client, architect, and other project trades as required to coordinate various aspects of the project Provide daily project status reports to project team members Create project change orders as required Be instrumental in the closeout process in conjunction with Project Manager, installation staff, control system programmer and other project team members Research new products and technologies for use in innovative and efficient audiovisual designs Provide leadership, mentoring and training to other team members within the company Promote a continuous quality improvement effort to enhance the services provided to clients and other Gencomm staff by demonstrating positive attitudes and actions through a display of cooperation, initiative and professionalism Protect confidentiality of information, including clients and company processes and procedure related information Work alongside clients to guide, inform, and support system design concepts post-sale as a technical representative for the company Maintain industry expertise by participating in industry trade shows, seminars, educational forums, manufacturer trainings, and ongoing industry certifications Support the Service department on calls that require a higher level of technical expertise or when other service technicians are not available Experience 5+ years of experience in audiovisual technical design & implementation Avixa CTS-D and/or CTS-I Certification (Required) Deep understanding of audiovisual design, including but not limited to: AV networking & topology Audio DSPs Control systems Matrix mixers/switchers Soft & video conferencing codecs Excellent motivation, follow-up, documentation, prioritization, customer service and multitasking skills High standard of personal integrity & professionalism Must have creative can-do attitude, a strong work ethic and the ability to work well with others and build relationships with employees and customers with varying personalities Familiarity with commercial construction practices
