Summary :

TES Recruiting is partnering with a global industrial manufacturer seeking a Project Engineer to support a major period of facility growth in the Salt Lake City area. The company has acquired land and is planning two new facilities over approximately the next 18 to 24 months. This engineer will initially help close out active projects within the existing operation, then transition into facility construction, equipment acquisition and installation work for the new sites. Following the local expansion, the position will continue supporting capital projects across the United States and potentially internationally.

Responsibilities:

Plan and manage capital and facility projects from initial concept through installation, commissioning and closeout. Support the design and construction of two new manufacturing facilities in the West Jordan area. Develop project requirements, scopes, budgets, schedules and status updates in coordination with Engineering and Operations leadership. Manage equipment vendors, contractors, designers and other external project partners. Develop and maintain facility layouts, equipment drawings and project documentation using CAD tools. Build project justifications using manufacturing data, cost analysis and expected operational impact. Coordinate new equipment installations and ensure projects are executed safely within active manufacturing environments. Apply Lean principles to facility and equipment layouts, material flow and work-cell design. Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders at other locations, including through virtual project teams. Provide technical support and resolve issues during construction, installation, testing and startup.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial or a related Engineering discipline. 2+ years of engineering experience supporting capital projects, facilities, equipment installations or manufacturing operations; strong early-career candidates will be considered. Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, schedules and project documentation. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks or comparable design/layout software. Working knowledge of industrial equipment, construction methods and manufacturing environments. Strong interpersonal and project communication skills, including the ability to work with remote stakeholders. Self-directed, practical and comfortable managing multiple priorities with limited supervision.

Travel:

Primarily local among three Utah-area sites during the expansion. Future travel may include domestic and international project support; near-term additional travel is expected to be up to approximately 10%.
