Job Description
Job DescriptionTimmons Group is seeking Civil Project Engineer candidates for our Land Development Group located in our Ashburn, VA office. Projects range from large scale industrial and distribution projects to public land development projects like schools, jails, fire stations, community centers and parks. We assist our clients with zoning entitlements, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration support. Our project engineers will typically work in a team of 2-3 design engineers and a project manager to bring our client's vision to life. The complexity and fast paced nature of our client's needs creates a dynamic environment for our team members and fosters a culture of teamwork, diverse training opportunities, and builds a sense of ownership in the successful outcome of the project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Design project components using office software, modeling tools, and AutoCAD Civil 3DPerform engineering calculations and problem-solving using formulas and computer toolsPrepare material specifications through research and equipment catalogsDevelop design details and complete plan setsConduct research and prepare objective summary reports for project completionAssist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimatesPerform field observations, inspections, and data collection as directedCommunicate effectively with clients and internal design teams under senior staff guidanceSkills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related fieldEIT preferred2-8 years of professional experience in land development civil engineering preferred (entry-level candidates will be considered)Experience preparing civil engineering site plans (site layout, utilities, grading & drainage, erosion control, stormwater management) is a plusProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation:
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $86,000-$137,000. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credentials and role complexity.Additional InformationThe requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
