Job Description

Senior Structural Engineer (PE Required)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Professional Engineer license required) to lead structural design and project delivery for commercial, industrial, and multifamily building projects. This role involves producing and reviewing structural designs and calculations, coordinating with architects and contractors, mentoring junior engineers, and stamping construction documents. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in Revit and AutoCAD, experience with coldformed steel systems, and a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects to meet schedule, budget, and code requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead structural design and analysis for building and industrial projects, producing clear, constructible solutions that meet client and code requirements.

Prepare, review, and stamp structural drawings, specifications, and calculations as the licensed Professional Engineer of record.

Model structures and produce construction documents using Revit; create and edit detailed drawings in AutoCAD when required.

Design and detail coldformed steel framing systems and other structural materials (concrete, steel, wood) as appropriate.

Perform structural analysis using industry software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, RAM, STAAD) and review results for accuracy and constructability.

Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and local jurisdictions to resolve design and constructability issues.

Provide construction support including responding to RFIs, shop drawing review, and site visits to observe construction and verify compliance.

Mentor and review work of junior engineers and drafters, providing technical guidance and quality control on design deliverables.

Manage project scope, schedule, and budget; communicate progress and technical decisions to clients and internal stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with building codes and standards (IBC, AISC, AISI, ACI) and implement best practices for QA/QC.QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) license required in the state(s) of practice; ability to obtain licensure in additional states preferred.

Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Masters degree preferred.

Minimum 8+ years of structural engineering experience with increasing responsibility on building projects.

Demonstrated proficiency with Revit for structural modeling and documentation and AutoCAD for detailed drafting.

Handson experience designing coldformed steel systems and knowledge of AISI standards.

Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, RAM, STAAD) and producing technical calculations.

Strong knowledge of building codes and standards including IBC, AISC, AISI, and ACI.Proven ability to lead projects, mentor staff, and provide client-facing communication and construction support.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong problemsolving abilities.

Ability to travel to project sites as required and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
