Full-Time | Direct Hire Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Engineer to join our Land Development team in Leesburg, Virginia. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of private and public sector site development projects while working alongside experienced engineering professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and land development, with experience in site design, permitting, stormwater management, and project coordination. Key Responsibilities Land Development Design & Engineering Develop and oversee land development plans for private and public projects. Prepare engineering design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering reports from conceptual planning through construction. Perform zoning research, zoning interpretation, and feasibility studies. Assist in developing site layout, grading, utility, and infrastructure design. Stormwater Management & Permitting Support stormwater management design, including Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H&H) modeling. Prepare erosion and sediment control plans and supporting documentation. Coordinate permit applications and approvals with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Ensure designs comply with applicable regulations, ordinances, and permitting requirements. Project Management & Client Relations Manage multiple project tasks and support overall project execution. Serve as a point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies. Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, and budgets. Develop and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work. Leadership & Quality Control Mentor and support junior engineering staff. Perform quality reviews of engineering plans, calculations, reports, and project deliverables. Contribute technical expertise and problem-solving support across project teams. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes. Business Development & Financial Management Assist with proposal preparation and scope development. Track project budgets and support project profitability goals. Participate in client meetings and business development activities as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 4 years of engineering experience , preferably in land development. Strong understanding of site development principles and engineering design practices. Experience working with permitting agencies and regulatory requirements. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred. Experience with land development and infrastructure improvement projects. Proficiency with engineering and project management software. Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bluebeam . Experience with stormwater management design and H&H modeling. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Acrobat. Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting processes. Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts. Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
