Position Description:
Seeking an experienced Sr.
Civil / Structural
Engineer for a 12-month contract at Surry Power Station in Virginia. This role involves developing and reviewing design changes, calculations, and technical evaluations to support large capital projects related to the station's Subsequent License Renewal. Candidate will collaborate with engineering teams and manufacturers to ensure designs meet technical specifications and station design/license bases. Projects include water intake piping replacement, cable upgrades, crane replacements, containment cooling coil replacements, and R22 elimination. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to critical nuclear facility upgrades and ensure safety and compliance in a high-stakes environment. This is a remote-friendly role with a Monday-Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Top Requirements:
Professional Engineer (PE) license (VA preferred but can be obtained via reciprocity) Recent commercial nuclear power experience (within last 3 years) Strong background in steel and concrete structural design, especially within nuclear standards Experience with design changes, engineering calculations, and 10 CFR 50.59 screenings/evaluations Construction and field implementation experience in nuclear settings Proficiency in nuclear Standard Design Process and license basis assessment B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Engineering Mechanics About Seneca Resources At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm; we are a trusted career partner.
