Short Description Bowman has an opportunity for a Structural Engineer I to join our team in Lacey or Seattle, WA. Purpose Perform the design and provide engineering services as they relate to transportation structures and/or other structural projects. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Receive general instruction on key objectives for execution. Receive direction as needed, and especially on difficult assignments and possible solutions. Work is completed using standard engineering techniques and design principles and is reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound professional judgement. At the Operational and Company Level Work closely with more senior members to learn about and assist with civil engineering work. Do the Work Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on moderately complex projects under senior level staff supervision. Complete design work using computer aided software. Assist with preparing reports and correspondence concerning the direction of assigned projects. Assist with performing bridge inspections, assessments, and preparation of reports. Review plans and prepare or review technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related engineering discipline required at time of employment. Entry level position, no prior experience required. Previous engineering experience a plus. E.I.T. registration preferred. Experience with computer applications and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, STAAD, and Microsoft Office. Proficient reading construction plans and technical writing. Working knowledge of
