Job Description

Lochwood-Lozier Custom Homes is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and technology-minded Construction Project Engineer to support our construction operations team. This multifaceted role connects project management, field operations, accounting, company leadership, and outside technology partners. The Project Engineer will support job cost management, workforce planning, scheduling, project documentation, internal systems, and process improvement across the company. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working with data, coordinating across teams, improving processes, and helping others work more effectively. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the successful delivery of complex, high-end custom homes while helping strengthen the systems behind our operations. Key Responsibilities Construction Project Cost Management and Operations Support Facilitate weekly and monthly job cost review meetings Support Project Managers and leadership with budget tracking, forecasting, cost analysis & estimating Monitor project performance against approved budgets and flag potential cost concerns Prepare job cost reports, forecasts, and supporting documentation Help maintain accurate cost projections and project financial records Coordinate with project teams and accounting to resolve cost-related questions and maintain consistent reporting Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities to improve cost visibility and control Coordinate labor requests and support workforce planning across active projects Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and leadership to evaluate current and future staffing needs Track labor assignments and support short- and long-term workforce planning Help standardize workflows, templates, and reporting practices across projects Support companywide operational initiatives and continuous-improvement efforts Technology and Systems Support Liaise with contracted IT resources. Serve as a primary internal resource for day-to-day technology and systems questions Assist employees with company software, mobile applications, devices, and operational platforms Troubleshoot routine technology issues and coordinate more complex needs with outside IT providers Manage communication, follow-up, and issue resolution with third-party technology vendors Support the evaluation, implementation, testing, training, and adoption of new software and tools Identify opportunities to use technology, automation, and improved workflows to increase efficiency and accuracy Monitor system needs and recommend practical improvements that support field and office operations Help ensure technology solutions are implemented consistently and used effectively across the company What You Bring Construction project management experience Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Confidence working with budgets, reports, schedules, and project data Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills Clear, professional, and responsive communication Ability to collaborate effectively with field staff, office personnel, vendors, and leadership A service-oriented approach to supporting internal teams Initiative, adaptability, and a continuous-improvement mindset Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive project and company information Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred Three to five years of experience in construction, project engineering, project coordination, operations, or a related role preferred Residential construction experience strongly preferred; custom residential experience is a plus Experience supporting both field and office operations is beneficial Technical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Project Experience with construction management, project scheduling, accounting, or business operations software preferred Ability to interpret project cost reports, schedules, time records, and operational data Familiarity with software implementation, process documentation, and workflow automation is a plus
Compensation and Benefits Salary:
$75,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience
Bonus:

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as project needs require
Work Location:

$75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
