Job Description

About the Company A growing Pacific Northwest civil engineering consultancy known for its collaborative culture and diverse project portfolio is adding to its team in the Tacoma area. The firm works across both public and private sectors on everything from site development and transportation to renewable energy and school facilities. The Role You'll be embedded in a multi-disciplinary team, contributing across all phases of project delivery on a wide variety of site and land development work. Real ownership, varied project types, and a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Support site grading, drainage, and utility design across public and private projects Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and technical reports Handle permitting, erosion control design, and agency coordination Track permitting requirements and schedules throughout project lifecycles Contribute to construction administration through site visits, meetings, and inspections Required Qualifications Oregon or Washington PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months) Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 6+ years of relevant civil engineering experience Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D Strong technical writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a project team Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with design standards and permitting in the Portland metro, SW Washington, or Western Washington areas Understanding of the land use entitlement process Experience with Vehicle Tracking, ArcGIS, and Bluebeam CESCL certification Experience designing LID features on public and private projects Compensation $95,000 to $135,000 depending on experience Exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for a Senior Civil Engineer title, with compensation reaching $145,000+ Full benefits package Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Transportation Engineer, EI
