The Project Engineer is responsible for material procurement, subcontractor coordination, document control (RFI's, Submittals, Meeting Minutes, etc.) estimating support, budget tracking, and change management. Essential Functions Review and understand all Owner Contract documents. Read, understand and adhere to the construction drawings and specifications. Coordinates closely with Project Manager and Superintendent to accurately manage project documentation. Making sure no subcontractor starts work onsite before they have all the necessary documentation in place. Manages the Request for Information (RFI) process proactively tracking down answers to key design/engineering questions and accurately logging the responses in Procore. Managing the project submittal process in accordance with the construction documents and assuring approvals are received in advance of the date required to maintain the project schedule. Assist the PM in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions. Work closely with project subcontractors to track and gather costs associated with project changes. Package and communicate costs in Procore to Project Manager for incorporation into change orders. Assist with subcontract negotiations, creating detailed scope letters, understanding and administering Colvos subcontracts. Maintain subcontractor and client relationships. Assisting the PM with the overall project budget and job costs to ensure the project is profitable. Assisting with project safety and quality control. Capture Lessons Learned throughout the project for incorporation into Colvos master Lessons Learned database Assembling all project closeout paperwork including Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, project warranties, material stock, training, etc. Assist with the punch list walk-through at the end of the project. Participate in the Colvos monthly project review meeting with the project team and the Colvos management team. Participate and keep meeting minutes for the weekly OAC meetings, site staff meetings, and MEPF design and coordination meetings. Position Requirements Degree in Construction Management or equivalent professional experience Minimum of three (3) years of commercial construction experience Proficient in Microsoft Office, project scheduling, estimating, and Procore software experience a plus Strong planning skills, negotiation skills, risk management, the ability to learn and be a positive team member. Strong problem-solving skills and communication skills, highly organized and responsive to the needs of the client and the project team. High safety record and personal integrity
