Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Wisconsin Certified Bridge Inspector to join the team as a full-time Civil Engineer. This position is ideal for someone who can deliver bridge inspection services while also supporting transportation design and/or construction engineering projects when not performing inspections. The team has built a strong pipeline of bridge inspection work across northeastern Wisconsin and is looking to continue that growth with the addition of a motivated engineer. While projects span across the state, most work is concentrated in northeastern Wisconsin. Primary Responsibilities The successful candidate will primarily perform bridge inspection services in northeastern Wisconsin, with opportunities to support transportation design engineering and/or construction engineering projects when not performing inspections. Responsibilities will vary based on experience and project needs but will focus mainly on bridge inspection work. On any given day you may: Perform bridge inspections in accordance with Wisconsin DOT and FHWA requirements Prepare bridge inspection reports, documentation, and recommendations Assist in the design of transportation engineering projects including highways, local roads, storm sewer systems, traffic control, erosion control, and grading Assist in preparation of specifications, design reports, cost estimates, permitting, utility coordination, and agency coordination Perform construction observation on roadway, utility, and site development projects Maintain project records including daily logs, time/material tracking, and as-built drawings Coordinate with project owners, contractors, project managers, testing labs, and regulatory agencies Collaborate with project teams to identify practical and efficient engineering solutions Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Wisconsin Certified Bridge Inspector certification required Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or ability to obtain within 6 months Familiarity with WisDOT standards and procedures is a plus Experience in any of the following areas is beneficial: Bridge inspection Transportation design Construction inspection AutoCAD Civil 3D AASHTOWare Utility coordination Construction scheduling Cost estimating Agency coordination Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and stay current with engineering standards and inspection requirements Must be authorized to work in the United States Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Drainage Technical Lead
