Since 1995, Nova Consulting provides professional Civil / Environmental engineering services through every stage of public infrastructure improvement including planning, design, and construction phase, as well as Program / Construction Management (PM/CM) services. Nova proudly serves federal, state, and local government agencies on award-winning, multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects for water/wastewater, environmental, resilience / SLR, airports, seaports, transit, roadway, and non-motorized transport. Nova's team of skilled engineers, scientists, geologists, construction managers / inspectors focus on innovative solutions with a client-centric approach to promote sustainable infrastructure for the betterment of our communities, our environment and our world. We are seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Engineer to assist in various public infrastructure improvement projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Responsibilities include. Supporting projects relating to planning, design, and construction of engineering infrastructure for public agencies Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope Prepare basic data, technical work plans, reports, and scientific documents Conduct field visits to project sites to investigate, record, and photograph local conditions Interprets and records data, conducts analysis, and compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance Apply knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to engineering problems Leveraging CAD and GIS software and other specialized software packages to develop planning and design documents Preparing basic studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation and calculations Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation Coordination with task and project managers; working with on-site subcontractors and field staff; and supporting sampling, data collection, and field documentation Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits Review analytical data for general indicators of quality based on well-defined guidelines Provide technical expertise support
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering 1-3 years experience in civil engineering or related field Knowledge of engineering and construction principles. Previous exposure to GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D is preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Well-organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work Candidate will have good communication skills, both written, oral, and listening, and good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work and interface well in a collaborative project team environment Review, evaluate, and verify accuracy, and viability of designs, data, reports, and other documents before submitting them to the next review level. Ability to adhere to the company's standards and procedures as well as project budgets and schedules. Candidate will interact positively and effectively with people at all levels of organizations
