$26/hr. - $31/hr. About the Role This opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams within the Technology, Commercial & Industrial Market Sector, supporting Distributed Network projects such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), while building critical civil infrastructure for today's and tomorrow's challenges. Civil Engineering Technicians contribute to the planning, design, and implementation of site development, including grading and drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities for these advanced industrial and commercial facilities. The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Assistant Civil Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting the development of high-quality engineering deliverables for these complex infrastructure projects. Under close supervision, this position performs technical tasks requiring knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation. Job Summary Provides technical support to engineering teams under close supervision Performs tasks requiring a basic understanding of engineering principles and practices Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to assist with the creation, modification, and maintenance of technical documents, drawings, and project deliverables Participates in the evaluation of methods used in the development of deliverables and design activities to support continuous improvement and efficiency Key Responsibilities Continuously learns and applies established standards, systems, document control practices, and departmental guidelines Ensures deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing knowledge of quality standards and procedures Demonstrates strong attention to detail and supports continuous improvement and change management initiatives Expands technical knowledge to modify and develop less complex deliverables using various design inputs Assists with minor technical tasks such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks Supports coordination of deliverables with other project disciplines to reduce errors and interferences Prioritizes internal stakeholder needs while developing an understanding of external client expectations Proactively seeks out and shares knowledge of emerging technologies and processes Preferred Qualifications Diploma or Certificate required Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred
